Well, his full name is Rorekgorundiltiluk as close as I can spell it with phonemes. The "r's" are rolled. The "gor" is growled. And "tiluk" is a sound made in the back of the throat using a reptilian tongue. But we'll just go with Rorek. For you see, Rorek is a reptilian from Orion. I shall tell you how he came to be my guide and how he's helped me this lifetime. I'm not sure what made me write about this today, but we're here and writing this. Maybe it's because it's unusual for a Lyrian to have a reptilian as a spirit guide, and I want to show what that's like.
Rorekgorundiltiluk was born on a planet he calls "Kossihim" orbiting Athebyne in the Draco constellation. It's an extremely hot planet, mostly volcanic, and inhabitable for reptilian beings. It is uninhabitable for Lyrians, because the atmosphere possesses too much sulfur dioxide for us to tolerate without a gas mask, and the temperature regularly ranges upwards of 100C in the dry season. There is a cooler rainy season (as cool as 40C), and this is what creates a temporary rainforest effect in some areas of Kossihim. If you are familiar with the "resurrection fern" (Pleopeltis polypodioides), the forested areas of this planet operate the same as this plant. If you are unfamiliar, I will share how it works. Pleopeltis polypodioides is an air plant capable of existing with only 2% moisture in its cells. This would kill most other plants, but not Pleopeltis polypodioides. When dry, the fern will curl tightly and allow its leaves to dry out and turn brown. It looks dead when in this state. Then, when it rains or there is fog, it will rapidly absorb all the moisture in the air and return to full greenery. The rainforests do the same thing going between dry and wet seasons. Rorek was born of a warrior caste in his society, which meant enrollment at the age of 13 in the military arm of the Alpha Draco civilization present during the time of the Orion Wars. He served initially as what you might call a "private" in terms of rank, operating as the ground infantry during raids and invasive actions. Proving himself skilled and ruthless with a plasma rifle, or something akin to that, he graduated in rank with each successive mission and proving of his prowess. He showed an apt mind for battle strategy, though not for greater military strategy, and so found himself stalled out as a lieutenant. This is where he enters my soul's story. As I've stated before, I incarnated in Orion as an Alpha Draco and was at one point the captain of a privateer fleet. Rorek was assigned to me as my First Lieutenant. As far as my Alpha Draco self was concerned, he was sharp, quick acting, self-initiating, fearless, and took orders without question. There were times where the ship would have been destroyed were it not for the quick thinking of Rorek. When I decided in that lifetime that I didn't want to destroy an unarmed settlement, Rorek was one of those who agreed with me. He loved combat. LOVED combat. More than I did, even, and I had a thirst for it. But he didn't really like being bored with shooting fish in barrels. Hence, his agreement. Unfortunately, this cost him his life. He was court martialed and executed, while I was merely banished. I did not see his soul for a very long time. Rorek tells me that to this day, he does not regret that decision. He was glad to make it. The next time I encountered his soul was on Venus. I had incarnated there and was awaiting the arrival of Seraphel, working in the spaceport as a technician and electrician. Rorek landed as part of a Martian convoy. I looked a hell of a lot different than the giant, white Alpha Draco, but he took one look at my eyes and remembered who I'd been. We had no further interaction beyond a long-held glance across port of entry lobby. This lifetime, Rorek agreed to basically act as the bodyguard for my Earth body while I was a child. From the age of 0-13, he was a guardian spirit for me. There were many times he tried to make his presence known, especially when I was around 3-5 years old. He would come to me in the form of reptiles, strangely placid and calm lizards that I would pick up in preschool and talk to. Additionally, he convinced me to appropriate a white dragon from the preschool castle toy. My grandmother got so angry at me stealing, but I didn't understand that's what I was doing. Rorek said it was fine. They weren't using the dragon, really. And well...reptilians have a very different view of property ownership than most Lyrians. If you aren't using it or defending it, you clearly aren't in need of it. He got me in trouble a couple of times that way. Anyway, he protected me from the spirit side as best he could and meddled with anyone in the physical that had intentions of harming me. There were several times I could have been kidnapped, but that was prevented by something distracting the would-be kidnapper just long enough for me to disappear. This was his job much of the time. He couldn't protect me from things I agreed to experience, but he did from things I did not agree to experience or events that would have killed me or severely damaged my physical body. After 13, his task was complete and he fell back into the background of my spirit team. He's still there, and has appeared in meditations from time to time when it was time for me to recognize parts of myself. For example, he was there when I accepted the Alpha Draco part of my soul's history and laid down the anger I had from those lifetimes. It was a lovely ceremony, but brief. I thank you for your time.
