Dream from the night of August 15, 2023. Had a dream last night about being in Alaska or Canada. It was somewhere inland in the woods. The weather was temperate. I'm staying with a man, but I never see his face the whole dream. I just know it's a male figure who is a teacher. This is a temporary situation--almost like I've signed up to learn a very specific lesson from him. I go out into the woods and come to a meadow. In the meadow, I catch what looks like a very small marmot or a pika. It's a little rodent with black splotches on its face. I catch it with my hands, and find myself cuddling it it's so soft and gentle. It wiggles its whiskers at me. My teacher sees me with it and asks, "Aren't you going to skin it?" I remember that we're out here learning how to do such things and have this experience of something soft and gentle being used as fur. I agree. I dispatch and skin the creature. I'm not thrilled about it, but it's what I'm here specifically to learn to do. As I peg the skin to a board to stretch it, I use a metal hammer that looks like a bar tender's muddler. The way I tap in the peg is not how you normally use a hammer. My teacher remarks, "That's how the natives do it." I can tell he's smiling about this. It amuses him that I would automatically do it this way. I say, "I'm not a native, but this seems like the best way to do it." While we wait for the skins to dry, I go out and get some firewood. When I come back, the skin is dry and someone has written all over it and the board behind it with a blue ballpoint pen. It's a letter to Janine (of Tarot by Janine) thanking her for all she does. I read the letter for a while, and it's essentially one of those "thank you" types of letters that talks about all the positive impressions one person makes on another. I think it's a lovely letter, but why was it written on the skin? I realize my teacher is gone. I go inside the cabin. Janine is there along with several other people. I recognize them as friends. They must be community members I've been talking to. We all sit down at a small table in the kitchen and chat for a while. I tell them about the skin and the letter written on it. Then, suddenly, I'm pulled down into myself and there's a being coming through to be channeled. In waking life, souls ask permission. In the dream world, it is already granted? Anyway, I'm channeling now. The being who comes through feels male, feels like a shaman or an elder. Someone who traveled on the other side a lot while alive. He says the following, "I am an ancestor of this one here. Stephanie. She and her people came from the stars to my people long long ago. They brought us gifts. Trees. Plants. Medicine." I ask in my mind, "How long ago?" "30,000 years ago." Someone at the table asks, "What did she look like?" "She has not changed much in all that time. She looked much as she does now. She came with a golden-haired man." There's a feeling of fond reminiscing. "You should have seen them. They were inseparable. Like two magnets stuck together. I was her first friend here." The dream dissolves. The alarm is going off. I wake up. Hit snooze. Have a different dream in the desert about skinning different animals. Higher self, who was the teacher in my dream?
He is a guide here that is ready to introduce himself. Or almost ready. Give him some more time. Who was the ancestor? His name was Tadonganowapet. Tonga. It means, "he who sees" in his language. He was your first friend on the Earth plane and yes, he was a shaman of renown in his tribe. The others of his tribe were too afraid to approach you after you stepped down from your craft. Tonga was the only one brave enough, because he knew you were coming. He had dreams about you coming. So he knew it would be safe. I once had an experience of feeling severe betrayal from humans the first time coming to Earth. Did something happen? While Tonga and some of his people were welcoming to you, others were distrustful. There was a woman (dark haired, dark eyes, spiteful expression, jealous, jealous, jealous) who fed poison to the others. Poison words that changed their minds and warped their minds. They came upon you in the darkness. Captured you both. Did they kill us? Yes. After much torture. You first. Then your counterpart. That is the pain of betrayal. Tonga could do nothing to stop them. He didn't know about them doing this. When he found out, he too was heartbroken. The tribe split up after that. Those who trusted you stayed close to your people. Those who did not were cast out.
