Well, the brussel sprouts and onions are ready to really get going. A few weeks ago I planted just a few heirloom varieties to get them started in the seed tray. The onions had a bit of trouble germinating, but I got 5/6 sprouted. Today, I transplanted all the sprouts to their seedling cups.
What happens next is these little guys grow in their cups for several more weeks, then I start the process of hardening them to the outdoors. So long as we continue to have nice warm days through early November, I think they'll be settled in before Thanksgiving! Also planted several garlic cloves this week as I'd love to have a bunch of garlic bulbs by spring. We'll see! I have no idea what this winter is going to do, but I figure these plants are quite hardy.
